November Reflections: Growth, Gratitude, and Sustainable Progress
November was a whirlwind of activity, filled with transitions, milestones, and little moments of joy. As I continue balancing the winding down of my old business and the launch of my new venture, the month has been both challenging and rewarding.
I’m now in the final months of closing my previous business. After liquidating the inventory, my focus shifted to clearing out hardware—a bittersweet task that feels like closing a chapter of my journey. On the other side of this transition, setting up my new website hasn’t been without its hurdles. The past three weeks have been a maze of troubleshooting, but I’m proud to say that it’s coming together. The thought of diving into content creation excites me, though I only managed to publish one blog post this month. Here's to more creativity in December!
Exciting Academic Pursuits
On a personal growth note, I found and applied for an online master’s degree in fashion sustainability—and was thrilled to receive an unconditional offer! I believe this program will align better with my aspirations, offering both the content and culture that resonate with my vision.
Life as a Parent & Celebrating Milestones
Parenting kept me on my toes this month with two birthday parties to plan and Christmas preparations in full swing. But the highlight? My family and I are buying our first home. At 46, this milestone feels especially significant, considering the decade-long journey and challenges it took to reach this point. It’s a testament to perseverance, and we couldn’t be prouder.Exploring Sustainable Living in Singapore
At the start of November, I took my family to the Sustainability Market in Sentosa, where we discovered some incredible artisans. Here are a few I’d love to highlight:
- Nibblin: Crafting pet treats made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, Nibblin ensures that every bite is nutritious and safe for our furry friends.
- Mireia: Offering premium, organically grown vanilla products, Mireia is a beacon for sustainable farming practices and a standard-bearer for high-quality vanilla cultivation.
- Tsutsumi Square: Their beautifully designed “wrap and bundle” products align perfectly with my love for eco-friendly living, making gift-giving both meaningful and sustainable.
- Agape Nature: agape nature, founded in Singapore, is on a mission to transform how we care for ourselves by offering high-quality organic products, they are committed to raising awareness about the dangers of synthetic chemicals and providing effective solutions to reduce pesticides and environmental toxins in everyday life.
We also indulged in a delightful meal at Open Farm Community. This urban farming oasis brings together families and food through shared experiences, offering everything from orchard tours to gardening workshops. Their commitment to reconnecting people with nature, especially children, is truly inspiring.
As I reflect on November, I feel immense gratitude for the progress made and the lessons learned. Here's to December—a month of possibilities, celebrations, and a step closer to realising my dreams.
